Brief bio

These days people ask where I'm from. It's a difficult answer.

I was born in Evanston General, outside Chicago. I lived in Park Ridge for four years before moving to Madison for seven. I was in Missoula (Mont.) for middle and high school before returning to Madison for college.

I started graduate school at the University of Florida in 2000. In the summer of 2006 I completed my Ph.D. at UF and moved to Chico.

I teach three courses at Chico State: Internet Newspapers and Magazines, History of American Journalism, and Mass Media Writing.
