From the Chico Police spokesperson, today:
1. Homeless man Babe Hogge, age
thirty-two. Yesterday, he disrupts the Chico Farmer's Market. Hogge grabs an apple from a produce
stand. He shoves it in his mouth,
and he walks away without paying for it. The farmer threatens to call police. Hogge is found unconscious a block away
thirty minutes later at about 6:30. Paramedics removed a two-inch thick piece of apple in his throat. The piece of apple had choked him to
death.
2. A college
party was held yesterday in Chico. During a fight a guest pulled
out a gun and fired shots. Missy Andersen, a 23YO CSUC student, was shot and killed. She
was in a house at 148 Warner Street with about 20 other guests in
attendence. She died instantly
from the wounds. Police are insvestigating.
3. Romilda Hamontree, age of twelve, from San Jose -- kidnapped as she got off of a band camp bus at CSU, Chico. Two men wearing masks grabbed her, threw her in car. They sped away; last seen on Ivy Street. Later they demanded sixty thousand dollars from her parents. Happened at parking lot near BMU, Chico State campus at nine o'clock am this morning. The FBI reported that her father, Randolph Hamontree III is a state senator.
4. There was a car accident today outside Chico. Michael Tice (who is 36 years old) was driving when he lost control. The van that he was driving rolled again and again down a cliff after it veered Cohasset Road north of Chico. A passenger was killed but the passenger's identity is not yet released by CPD. They want to contact relatives first. The accident happened at 8 am.
